I feel very comfortable being late to anywhere. I can want in with my head up and sit on the front row and act like I am listening. It is an art form.

Death, is death our only destiny?
by Blueblades insoon after we arrive on this earth, we become aware of the most fundamental fact of our existence, that we won't be here very long.
an average life span lasts less than 30,000 days.
we sleep a third of that time, so the days we experience number less than 20,000. we may try, but we can't ever completely deny our mortality.

I saw a movie called Eve's Bayou. A character said, "There has to be something after this life or God is playing a cruel joke on us".
I hope their is something else. I think there is an afterlife, but not sure. Maybe heaven? Christ died for us all. A God of love would allow us to see our loved ones again,.....right?
I feel there is some other form of existence after this life, not sure how? or what?

my field trip to Bethel
by themonster123 ina few years ago, when i was an active witness, i went all the way from california to the east coast for vacation to visit my witness friend.
her family took me to bethel (one of the many things we did)...seriously, what was the big deal i've been hearing about my whole life how ," oh bethel is so great!
" when i finally saw it when i was 18, it was like walking through a building with a bunch of walls with pictures of paradise on the walls and watching random people do printing press stuff.

I went a few years ago to Bethel. It was a terrible experience. I come to realize that this is a giant slave labor camp. If a worker gets sick, give him the privillege to go home without health care as a special pioneer. My wife went to visit a friend, she mentioned how "Serious" lunch is. So organized and diciplined. My 3 Year Old loved it. I hope to never go again. I tell witnesses that I would never allow my son to go. After giving valid reasons (no healthcare, pension ect) they say with a straight face, "We are Sooooclose to the end". You do not need any of that materialistic stuffff. I actually told an elder, Ohhhh yeah, remember "Millions now living will never die". He shook his head and walked away. There is NO answer to that statement.

Are JW's more human or robotic?
by JH insince everything they do is conditional to the watchtower, i'd say that they are more robotic than human.. take for example, "wanting to die rather than accept blood".
a human reaction would be to want to live, and ask for forgiveness if accepting blood is wrong.. another example is when they go door to door.
is it normal to offer a magazine to a person that needs clothes or something to eat rather than a magazine that says how nice it will be in the new system.

.......when a JW thinks and tries to be human, they kill themself or leave. Only robots without brains are needed.

I went into surgery refusing the option of a blood transfusion in case it was needed.
Can you imagine that MOST of us would be DEAD because of this belief alone?

Not enough is made of those in Malawi that died, while their was a double standaed in Mexica. I would Die for those that I love, that is the greatest gift I could give them.
I recall the girl from Columbine, CO. that died because she admitted she was a christian. I think I would have done anything to live another day, The Apostole Peter route. He lied 3 times and is supposed to be the gatekeeper in heaven. Obvious, God accepted / forgave his lies.
I would not die for the witness beliefs.

Is It Impossible To Reach A Devout JW ???
by minimus ini wonder.
a very typcal witness may see the obvious negatives that jws know they have.
they might acknowledge that there's often a lack of love, that the elders can be demanding, that "new light" can change long cherished beliefs in an instant.......but still they cling on and resist any sort of intellectual discussion as to why the witnesses are off soooooo many times.....what gives??

If they have intelligence they will eventually leave or accept the lies. Most are not that smart. After I read a sign that referenced the 1968 article regarding 1975, that was the first step for me. Using contradictions in literature is unrefuttable.
New light never gets dark.

Do YOU Think People Actually "Love" You? Are They Intimate Friends?
by minimus ini believe we all want to think that we are very much loved and respected.
when we were in the "truth", we used to say that we knew our brother or sister would die for us----if they had to.
but in reality who really loves us???

Save My Soul
My parents taught me a new word, "Unconditional Love". They knew the witnesses were wrong, but they inspired me to success, fulfilling their dreams. I never knew how powerful this word was, until I reflected on their deeds toward others during their life.
In comparison, I see I have no true friends. It is all conditional upon meeting attendance. I remember after a witness friend asked me to take him to a gathering / party 30 miles away. Being a true friend, I took him. We braved 90 minutes of LA traffic and I even loaned my former pioneer partner $50, that I would never recieve back. The next day, I had about 10 calls from other friends that said how he bad mouthed me for hours at the party (missing meetings, materialistic, worked too much, worldly, will die because of my flashy car......). I knew this man since 7th grade, loaned him money, practiced 3 assembly parts through the years, had JUST gave him a ride.
People that I work with are more sincere than the great crowd of JWs.
I only have acquantices and associates.

Do you tend to swear and curse now??
I curse to myself, which I have always done. Firefighters curse a great deal, so I have never desired to be like the low-lifes that I work with. Witness or not.
Overindulging in drinking?? I am a social drinker. Usually on a business trip I like to make the room spin, via alcohol. Has not changed.
Smoking?? A little 'immoral' lately???
Neither. Happily married for 14 years. I am actually closer to God and pray more than ever. I want my children to be God-fearing, over-achievers. Very rich and successful in life.
Prior to marriage I committed fornication at 20 YO and told the elders. I do regret telling them. I also went to a strip club with co-workers and told. Again, a waste of time. It was social, I do not see a problem with them but, I have not went back.
I did not leave because i wanted to LIVE the Worldly life. I disagree with the doctrines and lack of genuine love. I have a medical condition that i won't go into, but the witnesses have shown me no LOVE.
